Filters have become essential in our daily lives, playing crucial roles in industry and households. HEPA filters (HEPA = High Efficiency Particulate Air) are designed to remove at least 99.95% of particles that are 0.3 microns in size according to European standards (EN 1822). These filters are widely used for the purification of air from pollutants, allergens and pathogens. ULPA filters (ULPA = Ultra Low Penetration Air) offer an even higher filtration efficiency, removing at least 99.9995% of particles as small as 0.12 microns. While ULPA filters provide superior filtration, their low air permeability limits their use in certain applications.
Activated carbon filters are another tried and trusted method for air and water purification because they effectively eliminate contaminants through adsorption. These filters consist of porous carbon with a large surface area, which binds impurities like chemicals, gases and odors.

Tailored to Requirements
The newly developed YD-5k supplied by Good Adhesive provides a hot melt adhesive based on polyolefin (PO) tailored to the requirements in frame bonding applications. Customers in the filtration industry are already using this adhesive from Good Adhesive for bonding the frames of activated carbon filters for vehicle interiors and other filters with a similar structure. This adhesive is characterized by good processing stability, high adhesion to different materials and can be used in automated manufacturing processes. The formulation provides an optimum combination of flexibility, strength and temperature resistance of the bond of up to 160°C, which makes the adhesive a good solution for the automotive industry and other demanding applications.
